Orléans knows how to throw a summer. Outdoor festivals, free concerts along the Loire, guinguette vibes by the Loiret, electro nights at a Loire Valley château… Summer 2026 is shaping up to be an exceptional season. Here are the answers to all your questions so you don’t miss a thing.

What’s the big musical event on Fête de la Musique in Orléans?

On 21 June, like everywhere in France, Orléans comes alive for the Fête de la Musique. Pop-up stages, street concerts, buzzing terraces — the entire city turns into one giant open-air venue, and entry is free everywhere. It’s the perfect excuse to wander through the historic centre, from the Châtelet to the Place du Martroi, and just let the music take over.

📅 Date: 21 June 2026 | Admission: free, throughout the city

What is the Grand PianO Festival, and why is everyone talking about it?

It has become one of the most anticipated cultural events of the Orléans summer. For its 4th edition, the Grand PianO Festival takes over the city centre from 25 to 28 June 2026 with an eclectic programme spanning classical, jazz, rap, soul and electronic music — all united by the piano.

The highlight of the 2026 edition: the grand Campo Santo evening on Saturday 27 June, headlined by Yamê (Male Revelation at the 2024 Victoires de la Musique), Yaël Naim (the timeless voice behind New Soul) and jazz double bassist Avishaï Cohen. A stunning heritage setting, a night not to be missed.

Throughout the festival, free-access pianos are scattered across the city, and many concerts in public spaces are completely free.

📅 Dates: 25–28 June 2026 | 📍 Orléans city centre (Campo Santo, Place du Martroi, gardens, cultural venues) | 🎟️ Many free concerts; Campo Santo evening from €20

Is there a free family-friendly festival in Orléans in July?

Yes — and it’s one of the most beloved in the department. La Bamboche returns for its 6th edition from 3 to 26 July 2026 at the Parc du Poutyl in Olivet, just a few minutes from Orléans, on the banks of the Loiret river.

The programme includes around forty shows (concerts, theatre, street arts, comedy, open-air cinema), a guinguette atmosphere with food trucks and long communal tables under string lights, and a dedicated children’s space with La Bambinoche. The vast majority of shows are free. For 2026, Cœur de Pirate is confirmed on the bill — enough to win over parents and teenagers alike.

📅 3–26 July 2026 (Wednesday to Sunday) | 📍 Parc du Poutyl, 422 rue du Général de Gaulle, Olivet | 🎟️ Free admission for most shows

Can I have a world-class musical experience near Orléans this summer?

Absolutely. About 35 km from Orléans, the Festival de Chambord returns from 4 to 11 July 2026 for 12 magical evenings at the foot of the Loire Valley’s most iconic château. Nearly 300 artists — orchestras, major names and emerging talents — perform across a programme spanning four centuries of music, from Bach to Philip Glass, symphonic masterworks to chamber music.

A setting unlike any other in the world, a programme of the very highest standard: the kind of evening that stays with you.

📅 4–11 July 2026 | 📍 Château de Chambord (~35 km from Orléans)

Are there any electronic music festivals in the region this summer?

Plenty. Cocorico Electro is back from 10 to 13 July 2026 at the Château de La Ferté-Saint-Aubin, about 20 km from Orléans. Electronic beats, a château backdrop, open-air nights: the unlikely combination that works brilliantly every single year.

At the end of August, the Parc Floral de la Source hosts a Slow Electro mini-festival on 29 August 2026, with three headline acts (The Bird, Sandy Sax, Burachos) for a more mellow, accessible electronic night in a beautiful natural setting.

What’s on in Orléans in the evenings throughout the summer?

The Music Club Festival at the Parc Floral de la Source on 25 July 2026 promises an intimate acoustic evening in an exceptional natural setting — the atmosphere of a jazz club, but under the open sky.

And if you’re in the mood for something festive and offbeat, don’t miss the Soirée Blanche at the Château de Meung-sur-Loire on 22 August 2026: white dress code, picnic, live concert, show and an 80s DJ set to close the night. Slightly kitsch, entirely brilliant.
