🌺 Men's Roller Derby World Cup 2026 in Orléans: Hawaii's Official Team Chooses Urban Jungle

This week, Urban Jungle Hôtel Orléans is proud to welcome a very special team: the Aloha Skate Roller Derby (ASRD) — Hawaii's official Roller Derby team. All the way from the Pacific Islands, this exceptional team chose our hotel as their home base in Orléans for the world’s biggest roller derby competition. We couldn’t be more honoured.

Who is Aloha Skate Roller Derby?

Bringing together the best skaters from across the Hawaiian archipelago — Big Island, Oahu, Maui, Kauai — Aloha Skate Roller Derby is a community-driven, self-managed, and entirely self-funded team. A true grassroots spirit, fuelled by passion and collective energy, that naturally resonates with everything we stand for at Urban Jungle.

What makes their journey even more historic: for the first time ever, the team is competing under the Hawaiian flag as an independent team. Previously, Hawaiian athletes had to join the US national team or other nations to access world-level competition. This 2026 edition marks a turning point for Hawaiian roller derby — and for the recognition of their unique sporting identity.

The Men’s Roller Derby World Cup 2026 in Orléans: 4 days of international competition

Aloha Skate is competing in the Men’s Roller Derby World Cup 2026, organised by the Men's Roller Derby Association (MRDA). The event takes place in Orléans from April 30 to May 3, 2026, bringing together 25 teams from every corner of the world. Bouts are held across two venues:

• Palais des Sports — 14 rue Eugène Vignat, Orléans (main venue)

• Gymnase Claude Robert — 18 rue Moine, Orléans (secondary venue)

Doors open every day from 8am, with bouts running through the evening. An immersive experience of fast-paced, full-contact sport combining strategy, speed, and collective energy.
